Electronic immunization registries are confidential, computerized information systems that track your child's immunization history. Children are typically registered at birth, often through a linkage with electronic birth records. As your child grows and immunizations are given, the Ohio Statewide Immunization Information System (OSIIS) will track your child's immunizations and be able to provide you with forms needed for your child's proof of immunization for entrance to day care, elementary school and summer camp programs. By using the system, your health care provider will be able to access the database to know if your child's immunizations are necessary or redundant. This saves you time and money by avoiding unneeded doses and trips to the doctor’s office.
