Immunization registries are confidential, computerized information systems that track childhood immunization information. Children are typically entered into a registry at birth, often through a linkage with electronic birth records or at first contact with the health care system. When childhood immunizations are given, the information is entered so that health care professionals know if immunizations are necessary or redundant.
Immunization registries can be extremely helpful, if not essential, to maintaining the current high immunization coverage. This is true particularly since disease levels are at record lows and outbreaks of preventable illnesses are becoming more common.
Benefits of Immunization Registries:
The Project L.O.V.E. Web site, which provides access to the Ohio Department of Health’s registry system, has been developed with security in mind. To ensure that the registry information is kept private and confidential, this registry system is set up with a password protected system only for health care providers.
If you would like to sign up now, print off a copy of this agreement and mail it to the address located on the form. Someone will contact you within 3 business days of receiving the agreement.
